Experiences of family violence among Vietnamese women on partner visas: Photovoice gallery

In 2023, as part of a broader research project investigating family violence experiences for Vietnamese women who migrated to Australia through partner sponsorship routes, multiple Photovoice workshops were held across Australia. There were 15 participants in total - Vietnamese women who had survived family violence.

Participants were asked to take photos reflecting on their experiences with migration, family violence and finding safety. The resulting photos illustrate various aspects of their family violence experience, from financial and visa abuse, to finding safety and recovery.

Participants have written accompanying narratives explaining their photographs, which have been included here in the original Vietnamese with English translations.
